Islam by providing precise solutions such as self-awareness, self-improvement and self-purification invites believers to control behaviors to attain worldly and heavenly bliss. This control of internal and external behaviors is the management of EI. The aim of this study was to investigate the EI status in religious teachings with a scientific and religious approach. Methods: The present study attempted to investigate the concept and components of EI in religious and psychological teachings by relying on authentic religious texts such as the Quran as well as authentic narrative and psychology books. Findings: The interpretation of psychology and Islam is not completely identical in explaining the EI. Psychologists have used concepts for explaining which are applied as certain terms in religious teachings. Another point is that in Islam, besides worldly works and improvement of life resulting from the EI reinforcement and behavior management, there is also a special emphasis on the Hereafter works, which itself is a reason for being comprehensive view of religion. Conclusion: A careful examination of EI in psychology and Islamic teachings has revealed that Islam manages the emotions by presenting precise solutions and considers the Hereafter works in addition to worldly works.
