title = {The Role of Islamic Teachings in Guaranteeing the Convicts’ Right to Health; a Manifestation of Health-Oriented Criminal Policy},
abstract ={Background and aim: Due to the fact that all members of the society have the right to health, the convicts, whose human nature entitles them to have human rights, also have certain rights regardless of the crime they have committed. Therefore, the present study was conducted to examine the role of Islamic teachings in guaranteeing the convicts’ right to health as a manifestation of the health-oriented criminal policy in Iran. Materials and methods: This research is of theoretical type and is based on library resources and evidence-based resources of Magiran, PubMed, Noor Mags and Google Scholar, which was performed through extensive literature review, analysis, scientific studies and a guide to understanding the nature. Findings: According to the findings of the research, Iran's criminal justice system, while being effective in respecting the inherent dignity of human beings, has respected the health of convicts as a human right in line with the course of human evolution and excellence. Therefore, cases such as punishment in hot and cold conditions, punishment of sick convicts and pregnant women, the impossibility of treatment and hopelessness of the recovery of the sick convict, and observance of the health of the convicts has been thoroughly considered in Iran's criminal justice system. Conclusion: Long before the ratification of international human rights documents, including the convicts’ right to health, this has been considered in the teachings of Islam as a manifestation of health-oriented criminal policy. Therefore, the health-oriented criminal policy in Iran's legal system is also influenced by the teachings of Islam to ensure that convicts benefit from right to health in formal and substantive laws.},

title = {A review of infectious diseases transmitted in pilgrimage gatherings},
abstract ={Background and aim: Pilgrimage gatherings, such as Arbaeen's foot-pilgrimage to visit the holy shrine of Imam Hussain, is one of the most recommended religious practices. Every year a large number of Shiites and those who miss him, both young and old, men and women, walk towards Karbala. They travel to visit the Holy Shrine on the day of Arbaeen. This pilgrimage, which involves a long and difficult journey, carries significant health risks due to factors such as high temperature, long distance and uncertainty about the safety of food and water. Materials and methods: The present review article was conducted to summarize the existing knowledge about infectious diseases associated with pilgrimage gatherings. A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases using relevant keywords. Original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and authoritative guidelines in English and Persian up to July 2024 were included in the study. Two researchers independently screened and evaluated the articles, and disagreements were resolved with the consultation of a third researcher. Findings: Notable infections discussed in this article include hepatitis A and E, food poisoning, traveler's diarrhea, cholera, influenza, and COVID-19. In this article, the importance of preventive measures such as hygiene, vaccination and health education to reduce the risk of infection is emphasized. By increasing health literacy among pilgrims and implementing appropriate health protocols, this holy journey will be safer and its spiritual benefits for the pilgrims will be increased. Conclusion: This article promotes a safer pilgrimage experience, and also emphasizes the need for more research and the development of health strategies suited to the unique conditions of pilgrimage gatherings.},

title = {Healthy pregnancy from the perspective of the Holy Quran: A review article},
abstract ={Background and aim: Ensuring reproductive health is a tool for empowering families so that they can make responsible, informed and free decisions about when and how to have children. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of reviewing healthy pregnancy from the perspective of the Holy Quran. Materials and methods: This study is based on conceptual review and was conducted by reviewing the sources published in English in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus and Google scholar and in Persian in Magiran, SID, and Barkat databases. The search was performed using the keywords “healthy pregnancy”, “nutrition”, “mental health” and “the Holy Quran” from 2001-2024. Moreover, verses, hadiths and texts were collected using manual search in Holy Quran, Tafsir al-Mizan, Tafseer e Burhan, and Reihane Beheshti. It can also have positive effects on the growth and development of the fetus. In the Holy Qur'an, Almighty God has mentioned the peace of hearts with the remembrance of God. From the physical aspect, eating foods such as fruit, dates, frankincense, pomegranate, etc. has positive effects on the pregnancy process of the mother. Conclusion: The results of the studies showed that the recitation of Quranic verses, especially Surah Asr, Muhammad and Yusuf, and the consumption of frankincense, dates, quinces, pears, chicory, pomegranates, and seviq during pregnancy have positive effects on the mother and the fetus. Therefore, it is recommended to increase the awareness of the staff of health and treatment centers and students of medical sciences to take the necessary training courses to convey the contents to women.},
