title = {Investigating the difference between principals of Iranian traditional medicine and modern medicine for providing a model for integrated medicine},
abstract ={Background and Purpose: Interest in the use of natural based medicines is a worldwide trend that is approved and ordered by the World Health Organization. It is necessary to recognize the differences between traditional and modern medicine schools for achieving an integrated medicine. Methods and Materials: the first principles of the Iranian traditional medicine (ITM) were compared with modern medicine by studying the traditional medicine texts. Finding: one of the differences is the existence of "administrator power" or "Nature" in human body from ITM approach that controls all systems and organs of the body. Nature is the first physician of everyone and physician’s duty is only helping and enforcing it. There is no equivalent for this concept in modern medicine. The second difference is the belief in individual differences among humans (Mizaj) and using it in protecting the health, diagnosis and treatment. Nowadays there is no exact equivalent of this concept in modern medicine, but the expansion of personalized medicine is a way to reach the common approach in this field. Conclusion: the best pattern of integrated medicine for Islamic society is adding the methods and tools of modern medicine based on belief principles of traditional medicine. title = {Adaptability of Human Munificence with Cloning},
abstract ={Introduction: One of the important challenges in medical sciences is human cloning nowadays. This subject makes many questions among the researches, bioethics philosophers, religious scholars especially Shia and Sunni jurists. Since one of the most important reason of human cloning opponents is its conflict and incompatibility with human munificence. This study aimed at investigating the adaptability and the lack of conflict between human cloning and munificence. Methods: This study had been designed to evaluate the human munificence by using Quran, Traditions and the ideas of Religious Scholars and Theologians. In addition, the articles that had been presented comments on cloning were used in the present study. Finding: From Quran point of view, the human being possesses inherent munificence. Cloning has the same situation in protection of embryo munificence with extra uterine fertilization process. The same genetic identity is not adversative of individual identity. In the cloning, the restriction of genetic system has been challenged and has not specific relationship with the general character of human. The formation of personality of cloning person in the environment protects human munificence. None of the Shia jurists has declared that cloning is the evidence of violation of human munificence. Human cloning has not conflict with his munificence. Conclusion: the lack of conflict between cloning and munificence were obtained by exact investigation about this. Moral reasons that disagree with human cloning are not firm. It seems that there are not the traditional and rational reasons in incompatibility of human cloning with his inherent munificence.},

title = {The importance and status of Ta’am (food) from the perspective of Holy Quran},
abstract ={Background and purpose: Nutrition is one of the issues which has a special chapter in many medical schools. The relationship between food and the spirit is one of the issues mentioned in monotheistic worldview mainly in Islam. The aim of this study was to determine the status and importance of food from the Qur'an view because more attention might be paid to the nutrition, hereby. Materials and Methods: With reference to the digital versions of the Quran, to the related interpretations and to the search of terms related to nutrition, including food, wine, Alcohol and its derivatives, the related verses were collected based on related topics and the comments of commentators. Findings: totally, the word “Ta’am” (food) and its derivatives, “Akal” (eating) and the word “Sharab” (wine) have been repeated 48, 107 and 39 times, respectively. In addition, the general principle of lawful food (Halal) is directly pointed 6 times among verses related to food. Among different interpretations of the Quran, the importance of body feeding is emphasized than spirit feeding. Conclusion: According to many scholars and commentators, the issue of food is beyond its material aspects. Issues such as spiritual health through lawful business, gaining knowledge and thinking in the creation of man and food, reflection on the food formation and its change in human body and the use of natural food sources can be considered as the dimensions of food importance and status.},

The ideas of non-divine schools like feminists, the science view of medical specialists and the intellectual and common language reasons were addressed in this study. Funding: The majority of Islamic jurisconsults believes that the abortion at any stage of the live is prohibited and is considered non-religious if there is no good reason for it. Abortion sanctity in some circumstances is prohibited according to the negation of hardship and sin rules and it should be prevented from the greater loss based on importance and priority rule. There is no strong reason to abort the pregnancy because of its harassment in the womb. Abortion is permissible for mother if the life of mother is at risk. The sanctity of the rule is removed by the negation of sin rule. The negation of sin rule is dominant on all provisions like dissimulation. Conclusion: The sanctity of abortion is not absolute and has exception from the perspective of the majority of Islamic jurisconsults. The sanctity of abortion is removed according to the negation of hardship and sin rules. The harassment of pregnancy in the womb, which leads to danger of mother’s life, can be licensed for abortion. abstract ={Introduction: Surrogacy means necessary agreement with the womb owner who is ready for pregnancy and delivering the infant for an infertile couple. In a surrogacy, the host replaces the real mother totally and the guest child may not have any genetic relationship with his/her second mother. This study investigated the surrogacy legal dimensions according to the related issues of Iran and other countries. Methods: In this study, necessary searches were used from scientific reliable sites such as Iran Medex and NCBI about surrogacy and ART methods. The articles with the author's legal point of view toward surrogacy were used based on Islamic jurisprudence especially Shia jurisprudence that paid attention to Iranian civil legal and social laws. This study also was referred to the articles about scientific position of surrogacy and its' effect on family problems. Funding: Tradition, law and doctrinal issues of each society should be considered in a surrogacy. In some countries such as Astralia, Germany, Swedish, Norway, Greece, Irland and Finland, using of surrogacy is illegal or there is no law about this. Any specific law does not codified in Iran. Therefore, the applicants refer to shias jurists' judgments and if they imitate of someone, they follow their Marja Taghlid. Alternatively, they follow up infertility centers and act based on their viewpoint. In some contries, the benefit of infant is more important. Conclusion: Some people believe that this treatment is useful for both parties and that forbiddance of using surrogacy causes restriction for some infertile couples. Some people deem that the risk of using this method is more than its benefit. Although the vacancy of law feels universally, there is disagreement on some issues such as guardianship, parental rights and motivation of doing this work.},

One of the areas that were attended by tradition, in general terms, and by Nabavi tradition, in specific terms, was the area of medicine and physical hygiene and nutrition. Mentions of leaders of Islam about medicine made Muslims pay attention to medicine and compose books and conduct research about medicine. According to Agha Bozorg Tehrani, Reslato Zahabiah by Imam Reza is one of the earliest examples. Other such books are FerdosAl-Hekmah by Ali-ibn-Rein Tabari, Al-havi , Tebo-al-Mansouri, and Man La Yahzaro Tabib by Razi, Ghanoon by Ibne Sina. The oldest and most important of such books is Teb-al-Nabi by Abol Abbas Jaafar ibne Mohammad Mostaghfar Nasafi. Such a conception of mental health appears to associate with the religion which has an important role in the development of human characteristics. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between religious orientation and psychological well-being among the students of Gonabad University of medical sciences in academic year of 2011-2012. Methods: In this cross-sectional (descriptive- analytical) study, 320 students with different majors in various grades were selected through multi-stage random sampling method and evaluated using Reef questionnaire of psychological well-being and Alport religious orientation. Data were analyzed by using SPSS software, independent T-test and Spearman correlation coefficients. Findings: The results showed that there was no relationship between intrinsic religious orientation and psychological well-being (P=0.128, r=0.177), while a negative relationship was found between psychological well-being and extrinsic religious orientation (P=0.009, r=-0.199). In addition, there was a significant difference between two genders in terms of extrinsic religious orientation so that the boys more than the girls were outside of religious orientation (P=0.007). The significant and direct relationship was between age and self-orientation so that the students had more intrinsic religious orientation with increasing age (P=0.012). Conclusion: Given the negative correlation between psychological well-being and extrinsic religious orientation, students are recommended to help their mental health promotion and pay more attention to strengthen their religious beliefs with intrinsic orientation.},
