Oral health of Islamic teachings to the pharmaceutical industry (Case study: Salvadora Persica)

  Background and Purpose: The first stage of digestion is passing food from the mouth and crushing it with teeth. Not only maintaining healthy teeth facilitate the digestion, but also help the beauty, the correct pronunciation of words and also the promotion of mental health. In this study, the dental and oral health was investigated through using the Salvadora Persica plant in Islamic teachings to the pharmaceutical industry.
 Materials and Methods: The investigation in the Islamic sources and in the way of Prophet Muhammad has always special orders and teaching to protect and promote human health. Therefore, this descriptive study was conducted to investigate the health system through the study of library resources, religious teachings and those of traditions compliant with scientific and practical findings related to the dental and oral health.
 Results: Today, with the scientific progress, the researchers have recognized the strong recommendation and causes of the use of Persica plant. Persica plant or toothbrush has not only a physical structure, but the mysterious roots contained useful compounds particularly the fluoride, sulfur, chloride ions to strengthen the enamel of tooth and is strong germicidal in the mouth.
Conclusion: Islamic advice and recommendations emphasized the use of this and declared Persica protect and promote the dental and oral health and prevent many oral and gastrointestinal diseases.
