<abstract>
 Background and aim: In authoritative texts of traditional medicine, the concept of "temperamental variation among inhabitants of different regions" is presented as a key facet of human temperament. This article examines this ancient concept, with the primary aim of demonstrating its alignment with findings from population genetics and its enduring relevance in medical thought.
Materials and methods: This research employed a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing qualitative content analysis of classical medical texts, including The Canon of Medicine, Zakhire-ye Kharazmshahi, Bostân al-Atibbâ wa Rawḍat al-Albâ, Setah-ye Zarurieh, and Al-Abniyah 'an Haqayeq al-Advieh. Ethical principles of library-based research, including textual authenticity, accuracy in quotations, and meticulous source citation, were observed throughout.
Findings: The analyses reveal that Islamic physicians regarded health as a relative state, contingent upon an individual's adaptation to their environment. This perspective is consistent with the principle of natural selection, whereby differential reproductive success among genotypes leads to the formation of distinct, environmentally adapted gene pools. Their emphasis on individualized patient characteristics in treatment, such as temperament and city of residence, reflects a profound appreciation of the need to consider each person's unique environmental and genetic factors during therapy. This approach parallels the modern concept of personalized medicine.
Conclusion: The concept of temperamental variation across different regions, as meticulously and accurately articulated in traditional medical texts, evinces a sophisticated understanding of the dynamic interplay between genes and environment. The notion that "the treatment for the people of each city is distinct" is not merely an ancient medical tenet, but rather a precursor to contemporary paradigms such as the etiology of multifactorial diseases and personalized medicine.

 <abstract>
 Background and aim: Lifestyle is a key determinant of various dimensions of health, and chronic diseases are closely associated with unhealthy behavioral patterns. Islamic lifestyle teachings, emphasizing moderation, biological order, and personal hygiene, possess a high capacity for health promotion. This review article aims to analyze and scientifically explain Islamic lifestyle teachings and the physiological mechanisms underlying the promotion of the four dimensions of health (physical, mental, social, and spiritual) based on modern scientific evidence.
Materials and methods: This study is a structured analytical review conducted through a systematic search of authoritative religious sources and the PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, SID, Magiran, and ISC databases. The English search keywords included Islamic Lifestyle, Physiological Mechanisms, Lifestyle Medicine, Health Dimensions, and Health Promotion, while the Persian search keywords included Islamic lifestyle, physiological mechanisms, lifestyle-based medicine, and health dimensions and promotion. The source selection process was carried out in three stages: screening of titles, abstracts, and full texts. In the initial search, 185 titles were identified; after the removal of duplicates and irrelevant items, 71 sources—including scientific articles and religious texts—were included in the study for final analysis.
Findings: Analysis of the evidence indicated that Islamic lifestyle teachings affect health not as isolated behaviors, but as a cohesive pattern aligned with lifestyle medicine by modulating physiological mechanisms. This comprehensive pattern plays a significant role in maintaining body homeostasis and preventing chronic diseases by regulating neuroendocrine systems (particularly the HPA axis), modulating inflammatory responses, improving autonomic balance, and stabilizing biological rhythms.
Conclusion: Islamic lifestyle is a comprehensive model aligned with lifestyle medicine that, by regulating adaptation responses, plays an effective role in preventing chronic diseases and promoting the four dimensions of health. To further elucidate biological pathways and develop evidence-based interventions, interdisciplinary research in this field is essential.

 <abstract>
 Background and aim: Adolescence, especially in girls, is accompanied by rapid physical, cognitive, and social changes that can lead to increased anxiety. The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of empathy and positive communication skills training on anxiety in adolescent girls.
Materials and methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a pretest–posttest design and a control group. The statistical population comprised all ninth-grade girls in Hamun County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, during the academic year 2024–2025. From among 895 students, 45 eligible students were randomly selected and assigned to two experimental groups (empathy training and positive communication training) and one control group. Data were collected using the Beck Anxiety Inventory in both the pretest and posttest, and the training was delivered by the researcher in the form of 8-session, 90-minute face-to-face group packages. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and analysis of covariance in SPSS version 27.
Findings: The results showed that both interventions, empathy and positive communication, had a significant effect on reducing anxiety in adolescent girls. The mean anxiety scores in the empathy intervention group (42.5±4.2 to 28.3±3.5) and positive communication (45.7±5.0 to 30.6±0.4) decreased compared to the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Training in empathy and positive communication skills can be considered as effective interventions in reducing anxiety in adolescent girls and it is recommended to be used in educational and counseling programs in schools.
