Introduction: The purpose of this present research was to study Religious attitudes, Spiritual Well-Being and social support in predicting the life satisfaction in mothers of mental retardation children. Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was conducted on all mothers of mental retardation children referring to Emam Sajjad therapeutic center at Torbat-E-Heydarieh city in 2014. The convenience sampling method is used here. Therefore, 100 mothers of mental retardation children referring to Emam Sajjad centers were selected and filled out thequestionnaires. The Life satisfaction questionnaire, Religious attitudes measure, Spiritual Well-Being questionnaires and social support questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data was analyzed using Pearson’s correlation index and multivariable regression analysis. Findings: The results showed there was a positive relationship between the Religious attitudes (r=0/309), Religious Well-Being (r=0/157), Existential Well-Being (r=0/190), Family social support (r=0/390) and friends social support (r=0/100) and the life satisfaction among mothers of mental retardation children. Also, the results showed that social support (B=0/449), Religious attitudes (B=0/451) and Spiritual Well-Being (B=0/319) can significantly predicted change the life satisfaction in mothers of children with intellectual disability, Respectively and 30% of quality of life variance was elaborated using Religious attitudes, Spiritual Well-Being and social support.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that Religious attitudes, Spiritual Well-Being and social support play the major roles in life satisfaction among mothers of mental retardation children.
