Explain health education methods using Islamic approach

Introduction:

Health is a basic need for human and it is necessary to perform religious duties to reach it.Islam is based on human nature and a comprehensive religion, so many orders have provided for the development of human body and spirit. Health education is one of the strategies for health promotion in the community. The aim of this study was to provide educational methods and practices to improve the health by usingDoctrines of Islam.

Methods:

This descriptive and documental study was extracted fromIslamic sources to providethe ways and advice of the Prophet and Imams on the health and well-being.

Results:

Education and training without upbringinghave no benefit. In fact, upbringing is at the stage before education. Studying the Islamic books showed that the main methods of teachingincluded:opposite hypothesis, learning by doing, introduction of good and bad pattern, invitation tocommon, explanation the meaning, comparison method, thought provoking, metaphor and allegory, dictation, reward and punishment, using art in education, using the stories in education, indirect induction, argument and debate.By taking of these methods, the health can be promoted health in the community.

Conclusions:

The resultsshowed thatGodin the Holy Qur'an used different and effective training methods for educatingall people and theirimportant and valuableimpactsare well confirmed on the promotion of knowledge, attitude, practice and behavior.They can have wide applications in physical, spiritual, mental and social health education.
